Lead Removal Filters in Citrus Heights, CA

Lead Removal Filters in Citrus Heights, CA

Lead usually does not come from the water plant. It comes from the pipes between the street and your faucet: old lead service lines, lead-based solder on copper joints installed before 1986, and some older brass fixtures. Water that sits in those pipes overnight picks up the most.

Citrus Heights, CA Whole House Water Filtration installs lead removal filters in Citrus Heights, CA homes with media certified to NSF/ANSI 53 for lead reduction. For whole house water filtration, that often means a dedicated lead stage after the sediment filter. For drinking water only, a certified under-sink unit at the kitchen tap is a common and lower cost choice.

A few practical points we explain on every call:

• A filter reduces lead at the point it is installed, not upstream of it
• Lead particles can clog fine media, so a sediment stage in front helps
• Testing before and after shows whether the filter is doing its job

If you are not sure what your service line is made of, a scratch test where the line enters the house is a quick first check. Soft, dull gray metal that scratches shiny silver can be lead.
